Estate Planning
My firm can help you protect your family and property through estate planning. I will work closely with you to ensure that your specific concerns and needs are addressed. I understand that talking about end-of-life matters can be uncomfortable and I do my best to put you at ease.
Probate
After the passing of a family member, it may be necessary to go through probate and my firm can assist you with this process. Probate is the legal procedure for administering an estate, which involves collecting assets, identifying beneficiaries, notifying and paying creditors, filing tax returns and paying taxes due, and distributing the remainder of the assets to the proper beneficiaries.

Testimonials
Jamia S. Burns
Born and raised in Bellingham, I have practiced law in Whatcom County since 2009. After several years engaged in Personal Injury and Employment Law, I found my passion providing individualized Estate Planning (Wills and Trusts) services to my clients. I take great pride in preparing customized documents that reflect client wishes while working closely with them to protect their family interests and provide peace of mind.
I earned my Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law, graduating in the top 5% of my class. I am actively involved and committed to this community. I serve on the board of a local credit union, assist low income residents with legal issues through Law Advocates, and am a member of Whatcom Women Lawyers.
In my leisure time I enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking, international travel and cheering for the Seattle Sounders.
